In line with our Five-Year Action Plan (2025–2030), Women in Mining Africa (WiM-Africa) stands as the continent’s leading platform championing gender equity, sustainable development, and transformative leadership across Africa’s mining and extractive industries.

 

Our work is now driven by a strengthened governance architecture comprising five Directorates and fifteen Bureaus, anchored in a locked Strategic Focus and Seven-Point Program Agenda.

 

This structure ensures that every initiative we undertake is strategic, scalable, and aligned with our long-term vision for Africa’s mining future.

Each Bureau will have a Lead and a Deputy Lead. Appointments are voluntary but strategic and high-impact in nature, providing leadership visibility across the continent.

We are looking for:

  • Experienced professionals (5–10+ years) in mining, energy, governance, legal affairs, ESG, gender, digital media, youth empowerment, or continental advocacy.

  • Leaders with a track record of implementing programs or policies in line with development goals (e.g., Agenda 2063, AMV, SDGs, AfCFTA).

  • Passionate Africans willing to contribute voluntarily to a high-level platform of influence, shaping mining policy, empowerment, and community engagement.

  • Applicants fluent in English, French, Portuguese, or Arabic are welcome. Multilingual capacity is a plus.

  • Proven sectoral expertise

  • Continental or regional leadership experience

  • Commitment to WiM-Africa’s values

  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Availability to attend virtual meetings and coordinate initiatives

  • Ability to contribute 6–10 hours per month voluntarily
