2026 Implementation Year: Delivering the WiM-Africa Action Plan
The 2026 Implementation Year marks the transition of WiM-Africa’s Action Plan from strategy to execution, focusing on structured delivery, measurable impact, and strengthened chapter performance across the continent.
This page provides the guidance, templates, and resources needed for chapters, volunteers, and partners to implement programs in alignment with the Strategic Focus Areas and Seven-Point Program Agenda.

In 2025, Women in Mining Africa (WiM-Africa) strengthened its continental footprint and institutional capacity, operating across 36 African countries with 1,534 registered volunteers and 213 implementing partner organisations. During the year, 762 volunteers participated in structured trainings, while 3,620 individuals were directly engaged through programs, advocacy, capacity-building activities, and community initiatives.
WiM-Africa convened and participated in 29 continental and regional meetings, advancing dialogue on gender equity, ESG, safety, leadership, and value addition in Africa’s mining sector.
As we move into 2026, we encourage all chapters, volunteers, and partners to deepen impact, align activities with the Strategic Focus Areas and Seven-Point Program Agenda, and consistently use the WiM-Africa guides and reporting tools to document results, strengthen accountability, and showcase collective progress across the continent.

WIM-Africa 2025-2030 Action Plan
The WiM-Africa Action Plan (2025–2030) is a bold, strategic blueprint designed to guide all institutional activities, partnerships, and impact goals across our 36+ active countries over a five-year period. It sets a clear roadmap for transforming Africa’s mining sector into a space where women thrive as leaders, entrepreneurs, technical experts, and change agents.
Rooted in our mission to advance gender equity, sustainable development, and inclusive growth, this Action Plan positions WiM-Africa as a continental leader in reimagining Africa’s resource future—where women are not left behind, but are at the frontlines of innovation and leadership.
