IWoMA Launches Kogi State Intervention Program to Empower Women Miners and Eradicate Child Mining

The Initiative for Women Miners in Africa (IWoMA) is proud to announce the launch of the Kogi State Intervention Program in Nigeria. This initiative focuses on policy dialogues aimed at empowering women miners and eliminating child mining in the region.

Through collaborative efforts with local stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders, the program seeks to address systemic challenges hindering women's participation in the mining sector. By advocating for policy reforms and implementing targeted interventions, IWoMA aims to create a safer and more sustainable environment for mining activities while safeguarding the rights and well-being of women and children.

"We believe that by empowering women and eliminating child mining, we can create a more inclusive and sustainable mining sector in Kogi State," said Mrs. Rita Babatunde, Executive Secretary of IWoMA. "Through policy dialogues and collaborative initiatives, we are committed to driving positive change and ensuring a brighter future for women and children in the mining communities of Kogi State."
